Gelebte Räume und Geheimnisse sind zur Zeit meine Bildthemen.
Meistens beginne ich mit einer Zeichnung auf Papier, wähle dann einen inhaltlich oder handwerklich interessanten grafischen Akzent aus und verleime ihn auf der Leinwand. Dieses beschichte, reserviere und übermale ich so lange, bis die gefundenen Zeichen ein Ganzes geworden sind und eine geheimnisvolle Bedeutung besitzen.
Das Verweben von Handzeichnung und Malerei, das Kombinieren von bereits bewertetem Papier und Leinwand soll Verfremdung und Dingreiz steigern. Die grafische Linie ist für mich das Erkundungswerkzeug, welches im Kontrast zur textilen Leinwand einen derartig starken ästhetischen Reiz in sich birgt, dass die Malerei fast wie durch Autopilot gesteuert auf den Malgrund gelangt.
Leise Unterschiede der Oberflächen und zarte Klänge innerhalb einzelner motivischer Zonen sollen zu ausdrucksstarken und kontrastreichen Samplings führen. Das Entstehen mehrerer, in sich verschränkter Ebenen ist erwünscht. Inhaltlich und handwerklich-formal sollen die Bilder Freiräume für verschiedene Sichtweisen öffnen und bewahren. Private und gesellschaftliche visuelle Kodierungen möchte ich aktivieren, sie in neue Zusammenhänge stellen und ihre Wertigkeiten damit hinterfragen. Der Titel eines Bildes kann der Anfang einer Geschichte sein, deren Ausgang ich nicht festlegen will.
Geheimnisvolle, glaubwürdige Visionen sind mein Ziel.

My current subjects are lived spaces and secrets.
Most times, I start by drawing on a piece of paper. Then, I choose a graphic accent that is interesting in terms of content and technique and I glue it on canvas. This COATED CANVAS, I reserve, and  paint over it until the inspirations I found become something whole and express a mysterious meaning.
Interweaving of manual drawing and painting, combining the paper already judged and canvas should increase alienation and "Ding appeal". For me, the graphic line is a tool to discover. Compared to the textile canvas it has a strong intrinsic appeal. The drawing gets on the painting surface like controlled by an autopilot.
Subtle differences of surfaces and soft melodies innate to individual zones of the subject should lead the strong expressions and samplings rich in contrast. Creating multiple interconnected levels is desired. The images should open and maintain space to allow various perspectives in terms of content and technique. My desire is to activate private and societal visual codes, set them into a new perspective, and question their values. The title of a painting can become the beginning of a story, the ending of which I do not wish to determine. Mysterious, credible visions are my goal.
